Research grant applications

The CRC process involves three approaches to funding research: general grants, specific topics and specifically targeted research. These guidelines relate to general grants.

The completed application must reach this office no later than the closing date of 22 August 2008 (please note, a fax is not acceptable) to facilitate processing for the Council meeting due to be held on 28 November 2008.

Please note: If you do not receive acknowledgment of your application please contact the Administrator on 02 6260 9224 before close of business on 22 August 2008. If for some reason your application is not received we cannot process it after this date.

A proposal, that requires Ethics Committee approval, may be considered by the Council if approval is still pending at the time of the Council's meeting, in which case any grant will be conditional upon Ethics Committee approval being obtained. Applicants should take into account the time required for obtaining Ethics Committee approval in framing timelines for projects. Applicants may use any NH&MRC approved Institutional Human Research Ethics Committee.

Applications received after the 22 August 2008 closing date will not be considered until the next round of general grants in November 2009.

Titles of research in progress and recently completed projects are also included in the kit.

The application kit is available for download in PDF, Microsoft Word and RTF formats. If you wish to complete your application electronically and submit it by email, you will need to download either the Microsoft Word version or RTF version. The PDF version may be printed, completed by hand and submitted via post.

Note: Please download the Microsoft Word version in preference to the RTF version if you are able to read Microsoft Word files as the RTF file is much larger.
