Drug use and property crime
Is there a connection between drug use and property crime? In Queensland 81 per cent of imprisoned property offenders claimed that they committed the crime to support their drug habit. As part of its study into these links, the AIC monitors drug use among police detainees across Australia through its Drug Use Monitoring in Australia (DUMA) program. The results of this and related research can be found on the AIC website.
