Service charter
The Institute and the CRC
The Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) and the Criminology Research Council (CRC) are Commonwealth Statutory Authorities established by the Criminology Research Act 1971.
The Institute has a Board of Management comprising distinguished criminal justice practitioners from around Australia, reporting to the Attorney-General and the Minister for Justice.
The Director of the Institute is responsible for executive management of both authorities.
In this charter a reference to "the Institute" should be taken to mean the Australian Institute of Criminology and the Criminology Research Council.

- We will report our performance against this charter in our annual report.
Complaints
You may lodge a complaint with the Director of the Institute or with the Manager Administration and Finance.
We are committed fair and transparent consideration of your complaint and intend to deal with substantive issues expeditiously, fairly, openly and with sensitivity.

Hours of Business
The Institute is open for general inquiries 5 days a week from 8.30am to 5.00pm.
Messages may be left after hours via our telephone answering service, as well as by fax and email.
