Abstract

The author reports on an epidemiological study of domestic violence victims attending emergency departments. The study developed screening methods for determining a history of domestic violence; measured the prevalence rates of domestic violence victims attending emergency centres; and explored the outcomes of an educational intervention program for hospital staff.
