Abstract
It is important to have procedures in place to assist staff who have been victims of serious client aggression. These include counselling provisions, security committees, incident reports, provisions for banning clients and deterring aggression, and provisions for charging offenders and providing victim compensation. The authors also advise managers to assess the extent to which employees are victimised by aggressive clients and suggest a client aggression measurement process.
