Abstract
The authors present details of measures taken in a number of countries to prevent or minimise graffiti and vandalism on railways. These include railway police presence, electronic surveillance, quick clean ups, art programs for graffitists, volunteer subway patrol groups, crime prevention through environmental design measures, youth employment programs and education campaigns.
