Abstract

Detailed suggestions are provided of the roles of the following groups in preventing crime for Australia's elderly: government at the federal state and local level; the police; older people's organisations; older people themselves; and the media. The chapter also incorporates advice on home security, personal security and personal alarms from a booklet entitled "Confident living for older Victorians" published by the Ministry for Police and Emergency Services.
