Abstract

Evidence suggests that to take full advantage of the potential contribution of sport and physical activity programs in preventing or reducing crime and other antisocial behaviours, administrators must seek to integrate such programs with a range of other community services. This paper outlines the ways in which sports programs operating through these mechanisms can influence individual, family, school, peer and community factors so as to prevent young people's involvement in crime.
