Some juveniles make several court appearances leading to conviction and it is important to understand why and under what influences. This report focuses on one aspect of recidivism, time to reoffend, among juveniles with a proven court appearance in New South Wales between 1 July 1992 and 30 June 1993. An analysis of this group shows that age of onset and a history of previous court appearances are the main correlates of time to recidivism.
