The most up to date information available on crime throughout Australia is provided in this booklet. It presents statistics on recorded crimes, 2000; their place of occurrence; selected crime profiles for 2000, including victim details; age and gender data for alleged offenders and specific offences; criminal court statistics; corrections statistics, including statistics for prisons, community corrections and juvenile corrective institutions; statistics on criminal justice resources, including justice expenditure, police, court administration and adult corrective services; and drug offences. The publication also summarises findings from the Australian component of the 2000 International Crime Victims Survey.
