Abstract
The authors discuss the origins of family conferencing in Wagga. They provide some knowledge of the theoretical basis of the scheme and details of the evaluation that has occurred to date. They provide brief answers to some of the criticisms that are directed towards the scheme. They suggest a more appropriate terminology should be "community accountability conferences".
