Abstract
Western Australia has introduced juvenile justice teams which are designed to divert all but the most serious offenders from entry into the formal court system. Hakiaha describes the two key components of this scheme - the juvenile justice teams, their composition and their role; and the family meeting which is the primary tool available to these teams for resolving cases referred to them.
