Abstract

Close presents findings from a study of prisoners, prison officers and staff within metropolitan prisons in Perth. The study not only explored individual knowledge and perceptions, but also investigated their perceptions of others' perceptions. If a coordinated and comprehensive educational program is to be developed, it is necessary to consider the perceptions of the target groups and to understand why groups perceive issues in different ways.
