Abstract

Godwin discusses the legal duties of prisoner administrators in the context of AIDS management. These are: the duty of care to prisoners; the duty to comply with human rights obligations and non discrimination requirements; and the duty to provide a safe system of work for employees. He also deals briefly with some other legal and ethical dilemmas arising from AIDS testing in prisons.
