Abstract
In establishing the Payphone Division, Telecom Australia took responsibility for the problem of public payphone damage. Its new, concentrated, professional approach to payphone management resulted in increased profitability and reduced vandalism. The different components of its approach included: target hardening; formal, natural and employee surveillance; rapid repair; and community involvement.
