Abstract
The many crime prevention initiatives being taken throughout Queensland are the result of a change in police ethos ensuing from the Fitzgerald Report. Dalglish describes the development of the Queensland Police Service Corporate Plan, which addresses crime prevention, and outlines a number of examples of crime prevention initiatives that are being trialed. She also discusses issues which need to be addressed for these strategies to work (eg police attitudes, community support).
