Abstract
HomeAssist was instigated as a response to mounting evidence that elderly people feel vulnerable to crime and this fear impacts adversely on their quality of life. HomeAssist aims at securing homes adequately so they are less likely to be broken into, and aims to inform elderly people on matters which will bring about small but important changes to the way they conduct their daily lives. It is a partnership between three levels of government and a large number of agencies involved in the Together Against Crime strategy.
