Abstract
The approach to policing in South Australia has changed considerably in recent times. Police have introduced a program of community policing and crime prevention methods. The creation and use of regional response groups within the metropolitan police areas has enabled the provision of high profile policing to identified trouble spots. Problem oriented policing, which looks at causes of crime in particular areas rather than just dealing with incidents, has also been introduced.
