Abstract
With the growing number of attacks on women and increasing community and media awareness of family violence, the Victorian Minister for Police and Emergency Services (MPES) determined that priority be given to examining and developing a range of measures which could be addressed by Victoria Police, MPES and the Office of Corrections in conjunction with other government departments, the private sector and community groups. This paper outlines the programs and services which currently exist, and the actions to be implemented following the recommendations of the Safety, Security and Women Working Group.
