Abstract
Optus is providing a range of mobile satellite services (Mobilesat) which will make Australia the first nation in the world to provide a complete range of land mobile voice and data satellite services. This paper describes how the services offered by Mobilesat may be used to solve the problems experienced by many police organisations when trying to communicate with their remote field personnel.
