Abstract
This paper examines trends in officially recorded youth crime across six Australian jurisdictions, using statistics relating to the total numbers of young people processed by the system, either by way of a police caution, panel hearing or court appearance. By comparing these offence statistics Wundersitz seeks to determine whether, and to what extent, the situation varies from one state to another.
