Abstract

Tables providing data on the number and rate of deaths caused by firearms in the period 1983-1994 are displayed in this chapter. The percentage of firearm related deaths in relation to gender of victim for 1983, 1988 and 1994 is broken down into accidents, suicides, homicides and other. Graphs showing firearm related suicide as a percentage of total firearm related deaths by gender, and firearm related homicide as a percentage of total firearm related deaths by gender are included for 1983, 1988 and 1994.
