Abstract
Data on cost, personnel and caseloads are presented as an indication of efforts to respond to and control crime. Tables include: expenditure on police salaries; individual tables on composition of police services for each of the States and Territories and Australia as a whole; court administration statistics; corrective services management statistics; and tables on sentenced prisoners by gender, legal status, offence, time expected to serve, Aboriginality, and known prior imprisonment.
