Abstract

In recent years data has been compiled on children as victims of crime. This chapter presents statistics from the Australian Bureau of Statistics' 1995 National Crime Statistics and 1993 Crime and Safety Surveys. For each State and Territory, details are provided by age group of victims of homicide, attempted murder, assault, sexual assault, kidnapping and abduction. Victimisation rates by age group, gender and labour force status for personal crime, robbery and assault are also tabulated.
