Abstract
Australian adolescents perpetrate a vast number of sexual offences against children, women and men within the community. Young people who commit sexual offences do not follow the pattern of other young offenders, who tend to "grow out of it" when they reach adulthood. Adolescent sexual offenders tend rather to "grow into it". The need for intervention at the earliest opportunity is therefore paramount.
