| Description of the study: | This crime prevention initiative is based on community members managing and developing sustainable locally owned and run projects to deal with crime, safety and violence as they perceive it in their own community. The program consists of approximately five funded groups and another ten groups that are not funded. The project rests on a framework of community empowerment with local residents not only defining what crime, safety and violence means to them but also how these issues should be dealt with. |
