Juveniles in detention
Introduction
In all jurisdictions, juvenile offenders are not remanded or sentenced to custody in adult prisons, other than in exceptional circumstances. Instead they are to be separated from adult offenders and incarcerated in institutions known as youth training centres or juvenile detention centres.
