- AIC research project
- Start date: July 2001 (complete)
Description
In July 2001, the Australian Institute of Criminology was funded by the National Drug Law Enforcement Research Fund to undertake a drug driving research project in collaboration with the Queensland Police Service. The main objective of the project was to provide relevant empirical evidence for law enforcement, legislation and policy in relation to drug driving, by: examining the extent of drug driving amongst police detainees (based on data from the Drug Use Monitoring in Australia program); the patterns of drug use among these drivers; and the sociodemographic profile of these drug drivers and association with other offending behaviour.
