Evaluation of the impact of the drug summit initiatives
- AIC research project
- Start date: April 2002 (complete)
Description
Following the New South Wales Drug Summit in 1999, the NSW Office of Drug Policy was established within the Cabinet Office to oversee, amongst other things, the implementation of the agreed program of drug policies, services and other initiatives articulated in the NSW Drug Summit Plan of Action. This project, commissioned by the Cabinet Office, involved a longitudinal analysis of pre-and post-Drug Summit drug output and outcome measures within two NSW regions. The analysis explored whether the additional funds directed to drug programs as a result of the 1999 Drug Summit have made a difference to the effectiveness of drug initiatives.
