Description

In November 2001 the Victorian Parliament Drugs and Crime Prevention Committee received a reference from the Victorian Legislative Assembly to inquire, consider and report by 30 September 2002 on: the extent and nature of fraud in Victoria; the impact of new technology supporting e-commerce on the opportunities for fraud; the current and proposed state, Commonwealth and international strategies and initiatives in relation to dealing with fraud; and the need for policy and legislative reform to combat fraud in Victoria. The Committee commissioned the Australian Institute of Criminology to prepare a draft discussion paper to serve as a foundation for its Final report. More information
