WA Office of Crime Prevention joint research and development project - stage two
- AIC research project
- Start date: January 2007
Description
This is stage two of a project that involved developing a model collaborative process to provide research and development assistance to a jurisdictionally based crime reduction agency. It established a professional development partnership to enable skill development and knowledge exchange between organisations. Funding is provided by the Office of Crime Prevention (OCP), Western Australia Police Service
Stage two examines the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Partnerships (CS&CPPs) of the WA OCP to identify how they are being implemented and their successful characteristics. It also identifies general lessons that can be drawn from the operation of the CS&CPPs in Western Australia, and how these can inform the general oversight responsibilities of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Council. It also looks at the ongoing support mechanisms that the WA OCP offers to the CS&CPPs and how could this be improved. The research seeks to identify factors that both facilitate and inhibit the effective implementation of local community crime prevention action, and assess the penetration, reach and potential impact of the WA CS&CPP model.
