Abstract
This is a report on one part of a larger study on car stealing in Australia. It presents trends on motor vehicles theft in Australia from 1964 to 1973. Results show that over a period of 10 years the number of vehicles reported stolen has nearly doubled and the increase in motor vehicle theft has been greater than the population increase. New South Wales and Victoria have had higher rates of motor vehicles stolen than other states and territories.
