The role of police in preventing and minimising illicit drug use and its harms: Research summary

Abstract

This research highlights how police can support the National Drug Strategy. It sets out four areas for their support, these include: preventing and minimising the impact of drug overdoses; encouraging safer illicit drug use practices; encouraging entry in treatment programs; and reducing the demand for illicit drugs. This summary also includes key findings of the report and implications for police.

This research summary by Roger Nicholas provides a plain English summary and implications for police for The role of police in preventing and minimising illicit drug use and its harms (NDLERF monograph no. 2).
