Abstract

This research investigated the policing implications of illicit drug use in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Western Australia, Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory. It also investigated the opportunities to improve policing. Included in this summary are the key findings of the reports and implications for police.

This research summary by Roger Nicholas provides a plain English summary and implications for police for The policing implications of cannabis, amphetamine and other illicit drug use in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities (NDLERF monograph no. 15) and Good practice framework: Policing illicit drugs in rural and remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities (NDLERF monograph no. 15A).
