Abstract
This research analyses the use, health and criminal activity among heroin users. It presents the findings on the effect of perceived price, purity and availability of heroin on heroin use and expenditure; effect on contact with police on heroin use and expenditure; and the differences in health and behavioural outcomes between intravenous drug users who only use heroin and intravenous drug users who use heroin and psycho-stimulant drugs. This summary also includes key findings of the report and implications for police.
This research summary by Roger Nicholas provides a plain English summary and implications for police for Psycho-stimulant use, health and criminal activity among injecting heroin users (NDLERF monograph no. 10).
