The National Hate Crimes Database has been developed to track hate crimes and other hate incidents on behalf of the Australian Government.
This collection reproduces and updates some of the major reports published during the first few years of the Trends and Issues in Crime and Criminal Justice series. The series, begun in July 1986, has attracted considerable media and public attention because it deals with contemporary crime and justice issues in an intelligent and comprehensible manner.
The Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) has announced funding that will support Australian academics to undertake important crime and justice research.

Foreword | Funded through the National Illicit Drug Strategy, the Australian Institute of Criminology has undertaken a major study into the drug use and offending careers of Australian prisoners. The results from surveys of adult males and females highlight the diversity and complexity of the offending and drug use histories of incarcerated adult offenders.
